Al-gezira: Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries, Professor Ahmed Al-Tijani Al-Mansouri, concluded his three-day visit to Al-Gezira State with a field inspection of the Sudanese-Turkish Centre for Genetic Resources and Semen Production in Al-Managil.
According to Sudan News Agency, during his visit, the minister received a comprehensive briefing on the operations of the center and its crucial role in advancing the livestock sector. He expressed his appreciation for the staff's efforts and reaffirmed the center's ongoing contribution toward enhancing the national herd through the introduction of high-productivity breeds.
The minister emphasized the need to connect animal resources institutions with scientific bodies and universities to bolster research and development. He advocated for a collaborative study with the University of Al-Managil to propel the center towards achieving leadership in genetic resources and livestock breeding improvement.
Furthermore, the minister highlighted the artificial insemination center's significant capabilities in Al-Managil, noting its potential to generate monthly profits of up to $1.5 million.
The visit was attended by several dignitaries, including Dr. Arafa Mahmoud Ahmed, the Director-General and Acting State Minister of the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources in Al-Gezira State, Othman Yousuf Ahmed, the Executive Director of Al-Managil Locality, along with other official and community leaders.
