Khartoum: The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Wednesday announced the list of the ten clubs nominated for the 2025 African Club of the Year Award. Among the prestigious nominees is Sudan’s Al-Hilal, a testament to their performance and impact in African football.
According to Sudan News Agency, the list of nominees also features prominent clubs such as Pyramids from Egypt, RS Berkane from Morocco, and Tanzania’s Simba. Other contenders include ASEC Mimosas from C´te d’Ivoire, CR Belouizdad and CS Constantine from Algeria. South Africa is represented by three clubs: Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Stellenbosch.
Pyramids is currently seen as the frontrunner for the award. The Egyptian club solidified its status by winning last year’s CAF Champions League and recently adding the CAF Super Cup to its accolades after a victory over Morocco’s RS Berkane.
