Al-gezira state: The General Administration of Trade and the Gezira Trade Point has reported a serious incident involving the pillaging, devastation, and burning of 24 warehouses by the rebel terrorist Dagalo family militia. These warehouses, which belong to the Gezira State government, have been severely affected by the attack.
According to Sudan News Agency, the warehouses housed a significant amount of goods and commodities that were under the custody of the state’s Ministry of Finance, Economy, and Manpower. Among the damaged properties were a stockpile of sugar and a sugar beet factory. The total cost of the commodities and properties affected by this incident is estimated to exceed $20 million. Additionally, several companies and individuals have suffered losses due to the destruction.
Dr. Al-Harith Mustafa Al-Sheikh, the Director of the General Administration of Trade in Gezira State, has stated that efforts are underway to address the damage. The administration has initiated the rebuilding, rehabilitation, maintenance, and securing of the affected warehouses. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to ensure that the state’s needs for strategic commodities are met. The Supreme Committee for Economic Emergencies is playing a crucial role in ensuring the continued flow of strategic commodities and fuel to the region.
