Khartoum: Culture, Information, Antiquities and Tourism Minister Khalid Al-Eiser and Sennar State Wali Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Al-Zubair Hassan Al-Sayed have come to an agreement to establish a specialized technical committee focused on the rehabilitation and maintenance of Sennar's cultural facilities. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance the state's cultural infrastructure.
According to Sudan News Agency, the agreement was finalized during a meeting held at the minister's office in Khartoum, attended by the ministry's undersecretaries, Dr. Graham Abdel Gadir and Somaya Al-Hadi. The meeting involved a thorough review of the current state of Sennar's cultural facilities, identifying the challenges they face, and discussing urgent measures required for their restoration.
Speaking to SUNA, the Wali emphasized that the discussions provided a comprehensive assessment of the facilities, highlighting their historical significance and current condition. "We agreed on practical arrangements to rehabilitate these facilities and enhance their role in serving the people of Sennar State and Sudan as a whole," he stated.
The Wali of Sennar reiterated the state's commitment to collaborating closely with the Ministry of Culture, Information, Tourism and Antiquities to execute rehabilitation programs. He also commended the ministry for its ongoing support in preserving the cultural heritage of Sennar.
