Khartoum: President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, has affirmed that the Battle of Dignity would continue until the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia is eliminated and Sudan is liberated.
According to Sudan News Agency, General Al-Burhan expressed these views during the 30th Briefing Conference of the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Tourism, organized in Khartoum. The briefing was attended by the Minister of Interior and was hosted by the agency on Wednesday. Al-Burhan emphasized that the armed and supporting forces are committed to fighting the rebels in areas such as El-Fashir and El-Geneina until the RSF militia is completely eradicated from the country.
He pointed out that liberating Khartoum has been challenging, with significant sacrifices made by the armed and supporting forces, resulting in the loss of thousands of lives. The devastation seen in the capital is indicative of the intensity and ferocity of the battles that occurred there.
Al-Burhan reiterated the state’s commitment to maintaining security and providing essential services to citizens to aid their return to their homes. He emphasized the government’s determination to clear the capital of armed presence, regulate the carrying of weapons, and prohibit the movement of vehicles without license plates. Additionally, he expressed support for the Supreme Committee for Preparing the Environment for the Return of Citizens to Khartoum and the state government.
Al-Burhan also stated that the Transitional Sovereignty Council would refrain from interfering in matters related to the state’s executive body, with the Ibrahim Jabir Committee set to provide assistance and coordination.
