Bissau: President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, and President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Omar Sissoko, held a joint press conference at the presidential palace in Bissau, in the presence of media and news agencies. TSC President expressed his great happiness with his visit to the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, noting that he held an official discussion session with President Omar Sissoko, which addressed areas of joint cooperation, expressing his deep appreciation for President Sissoko’s positions on the issue of Sudan and his interest in developments of the situation in Sudan.
According to Sudan News Agency, President Al-Burhan pointed out that Sudan has been facing a war with multiple parties and was invaded by mercenaries and the terrorist rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militias that vandalized the state’s infrastructure and committed systematic crimes against the people. He emphasized that the world is aware of the war crimes and genocide committed by this militia against citizens, reaffirming the Sudanese people’s stance of rejecting negotiation and any future presence of the RSF militia.
Al-Burhan stressed that Sudan’s relations will be built based on the stances of countries on this war. He stated that the conflict will not cease unless the militia withdraws from civilian areas and homes, and countries providing political and military support to the militia cease their backing. He praised the armed forces for their successes on all fronts.
The TSC President highlighted that President Omar Sissoko understood Sudan’s position and pledged to make efforts to achieve security, stability, and peace in Sudan, aiming for the return of normalcy for the Sudanese people. Al-Burhan emphasized the importance of resolving internal issues within African countries through African solutions, advocating for the use of Africa’s resources and rejecting external impositions.
Al-Burhan commended African leaders who strive to resolve the continent’s challenges within the African framework, underlining the importance of confronting rebellions that lead to destabilization and instability in Africa.
For his part, Guinea-Bissau President Omar Sissoko welcomed President Al-Burhan’s visit, marking it as the first visit by a Sudanese President to Guinea-Bissau. He acknowledged the ties between the Sudanese and Guinean peoples and praised the Sudanese people’s reputation in Africa and globally. Sissoko affirmed his country’s readiness to support efforts to end the war in Sudan, expressing hope for increased security and stability in Sudan and revealing his ongoing attention to developments in the country.
