Khartoum: President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, has emphasized the Nuba people’s integral role in Sudan’s national struggle. He acknowledged their key contributions to military and security institutions and their significant impact on national development.
According to Sudan News Agency, during a meeting with a delegation of Nuba civil society, native, and political leaders led by Lt. Gen. Daniel Kodi, Al-Burhan praised the Nuba’s loyalty to Sudan. He committed to addressing the delegation’s demands to enhance the development and stability of South Kordofan.
The Delegation’s Spokesperson, Dr. Ali Moamen, stated that the meeting was part of the Nuba leadership’s support for the Battle of Dignity, affirming their unwavering backing for the armed forces against rebel militia forces. Discussions included the security situation in South Kordofan and the importance of opening the Al Obeid-Delling-Kadogli road via the Sayyad Mo
bile Forces, crucial for the upcoming agricultural season.
Dr. Moamen highlighted the meeting’s focus on arming the popular resistance in South Kordofan to counter the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) and the al-Dagalo militia alliance, which he claimed opposes human values. The meeting also addressed the need to support the Nuba Mountains Agricultural Corporation and aid displaced people from Lagawa to Kadugli and Dilling, ensuring their return and providing necessary support.
