Al-damazin: Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Dr. Malik Agar, has renewed his commitment to supporting Blue Nile University, particularly in infrastructure development and other academic fields. This announcement was made during a ceremony at the Faculty of Education in Al-Damazin, organized by the university on the occasion of awarding him an honorary doctorate.
According to Sudan News Agency, the event was attended by notable figures including the Governor of the Blue Nile Region, Lt. Gen. Ahmed Al-Omda Badi, Chief Justice of the Region Jumaa Khamis Ali, and Representative of the Ministry of Defense Maj. Gen. (Dr.) Abu Bakr Figeeri, along with members of the regional government, the Security Committee, and community leaderships. The University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Omar Hassan Hussein, Chairman of the University Council Azhari Madani Idris, and Rapporteur of the University Support Committee Ahmed Kormino Ahmed were also present.
TSC Vice-President Agar expressed his appreciation for the initiatives of Blue Nile University in various fields, recalling the historical developments witnessed by the region through different eras. He further announced his sponsorship of a project to rehabilitate the university’s lecture halls, emphasizing his dedication to improving the educational infrastructure.
Governor of the Blue Nile Region, Lt. Gen. Ahmed Al-Omda Badi, commended the university’s achievements, particularly its role in accommodating students displaced from war-affected universities and maintaining continuity in academic work during the war. He reaffirmed the regional government’s commitment to supporting the university’s programs.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the honorary doctorate certificate was officially presented to TSC Vice President, General Dr. Malik Agar, who was also honored by Al-Mak (King) Sheikh Adham, Chieftain of the Western Area.
