Khartoum: The Council of Ministers of the Blue Nile Region convened an extraordinary session on Friday, led by Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Malik Agar, during his visit to the region.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Chairman of the Higher Council for Culture, Information and Tourism, and Official Government Spokesperson, Saif Al-Nasr Minallah, reported that the Council provided a comprehensive briefing to TSC Vice-President Agar. The briefing detailed the government’s efforts to deliver services to citizens, alongside the challenges faced and the major service projects undertaken despite ongoing security and economic challenges in the region and the country.
The session also highlighted investment initiatives in mining and agriculture, the difficulties faced by farmers, and efforts to bolster education. Preparations for primary and intermediate certificate examinations and accommodating students displaced by conflict were also discussed. Additionally, achievements in enhancing healthcare services were outlined.
TSC Vice-President Agar acknowledged the progress made across various sectors and promised to discuss these projects at the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Cabinet levels to facilitate necessary interventions. He announced a commitment to provide food allowances for medical staff for an entire year to support health services and emphasized the importance of prioritizing community reconciliation programs. These programs will be coordinated with the native administration to promote peaceful coexistence and counteract hate speech.
Agar reiterated his full support and sponsorship for community reconciliation initiatives aimed at strengthening security, social peace, and coexistence in the Blue Nile Region.
