Khartoum: Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Malik Agar, has affirmed the government’s commitment to overcoming impediments facing the performance of the National Commission for Human Rights. This commitment is aimed at enabling the Commission to fulfill its role in supporting those affected by the repercussions of the war and violations committed by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
According to Sudan News Agency, during a meeting with the Chairman of the National Commission for Human Rights, Jumaa Al-Wakil Al-Aiser, Agar was briefed on the Commission’s progress, especially in regions like Darfur, South Kordofan, the Nuba Mountains, and Abyei. The Chairman highlighted that the terrorist militia’s non-compliance with Security Council Resolution 2637, which calls for lifting the siege on El-Fashir, has significantly worsened the situation, deteriorating the humanitarian conditions and targeting civilians in displacement camps.
Jumaa Al-Aisar further explained the serious deterioration in Kadugli and Dilling, attributed to the siege imposed by the terrorist militia of Al-Dagalo and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), led by Abdel-Aziz Al-Hilu. This situation constitutes a violation of international and humanitarian law.
The Chairman renewed his call to the United Nations and international organizations to fulfill their obligations by delivering humanitarian aid to those affected and urgently intervening to rescue the victims.
