Kassala: The Acting Wali of Kassala State, Major General (Ret) Al-Sadiq Mohamed Al-Azraq, engaged in a meeting today with a delegation from the Dutch Embassy. The meeting was also attended by the state ministers responsible for Social Development, Health, Education, and Guidance.
According to Sudan News Agency, the discussions centered around enhancing cooperation with the Dutch Embassy, which has been a significant contributor to humanitarian projects within the state. A key focus was transitioning from emergency aid efforts to early recovery strategies. The discussions also included establishing partnerships to ensure future funding and support.
The meeting addressed critical issues such as the protection of children and women, emphasizing the state's ongoing initiatives to improve these conditions. One of the prominent organizations involved in these efforts is Plan International Sudan, which has a long-standing presence in Kassala, working on family and community development.
Participants in the meeting reviewed the integration of these efforts into the state's broader strategic plans. There was a strong emphasis on fostering long-term development and moving communities away from reliance on immediate humanitarian aid towards sustainable services in areas such as education, health, food security, and social development.
