Khartoum: The Acting Secretary-General of the National Investment Authority, Ahlam Madani Mahdi, reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to enhancing the investment climate and achieving sustainable economic development in Sudan.
According to Sudan News Agency, she said that a fact-finding committee has been formed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fire that broke out at the Authority’s headquarters, noting that the employees’ files were not affected.
She stressed that the incident did not disrupt the workflow and that the Authority continues to provide its services uninterrupted. She further noted that investment interest in Sudan is steadily increasing despite the ongoing war, as the Authority continues to receive a growing number of investment applications.
Ahlam Madani praised the significant efforts of the Committee for the Restoration of Institutions in normalizing life in Khartoum State, which is now witnessing gradual recovery.
She pointed out that Sudan is currently going through a critical phase marked by security, political, and economic challenges, emphasizing that the stage requires national awareness, initiative, and will. She affirmed that the Armed Forces are working to safeguard the nation’s unity, identity, and achievements.
The National Investment Authority stated that the fire incident was caused by a nearby blaze during cleaning operations in Khartoum State, which affected the office housing the Minister and the One-Stop Service Directorate.
The Authority further affirmed that previous acts of sabotage committed by the militia did not deter it from continuing its work from its offices in Port Sudan and Ad-Damer to attract investors and promote investment in Sudan.
