Alexandria: The President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Dr. Ismail Abdel-Ghafar Farag, welcomed the Director General of the Sudan Sea Ports Corporation, Eng. Gailani Mohamed Gailani, during an official visit to the AASTMT headquarters. This meeting aimed to explore potential avenues for collaborative efforts between the Academy and the Sudan Sea Ports Corporation, particularly focusing on education, training, and technical consulting to bolster the maritime transport sector in Sudan.
According to Sudan News Agency, the discussions also covered the support extended by the Academy in research and consulting, aiming to aid in the formulation and development of strategic plans for Sudanese ports. The Academy leverages its specialized scientific expertise and regional and international knowledge in maritime transport and port management to contribute to these initiatives.
The meeting emphasized the established academic connections between the two entities, with the Academy currently educating a significant number of Sudanese students across its various faculties. This collaboration showcases the mutual confidence in the AASTMT’s educational framework and its leading role in cultivating skilled professionals in maritime transport, engineering, and management.
Both parties expressed their eagerness to further activate joint cooperation and share expertise, enhancing the human and technical capacities of Sudanese ports. This partnership is seen as pivotal in supporting sustainable development initiatives within the maritime transport sector in the region.
