Khartoum: The Sudan Liberation Movement, led by Minni Arko Minnawi, has announced its welcome to Major General Bishara Adam Anka and his forces following their defection from the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) led by Suleiman Sandal. The JEM has been fighting alongside the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
According to Sudan News Agency, Colonel Ahmed Hussein Mustafa, the official spokesperson for the movement, stated that the inclusion of Bishara’s forces is a significant enhancement to the joint force defending the homeland. This move is expected to strengthen military capabilities and improve mechanisms for field coordination against the rebel forces. Colonel Ahmed emphasized that the doors remain open for all patriotic citizens to join in the national struggle, defeat the RSF, and establish security and stability across Sudan.
In its statement on Tuesday, the movement reiterated its commitment to protecting civilians and preserving their dignity. It also announced the beginning of the process to or
ganize and integrate the fighting units under a unified command to ensure discipline and professionalism in military performance.
Colonel Ahmed Hussein highlighted the movement’s ongoing efforts to unify all ranks under the joint forces of the armed struggle movements, aiming to support national unity and confront the threats facing the homeland.
