Sudanese Dialogue Preparatory Committee Invites Political Forces for Consultations

Khartoum:The Sudanese-Sudanese Dialogue Preparatory Committee has initiated invitations to all political forces for consultative meetings to prepare for the upcoming Sudanese-Sudanese Dialogue Conference.

According to Sudan News Agency, Osman Mirghani, the spokesman for the committee, announced at a press conference in Khartoum that meetings with political forces would commence soon. A special meeting with the Democratic Bloc is scheduled for next week, which will be followed by consultations with other political forces.

Mirghani emphasized that the committee aims to reach a broad consensus on issues pertinent to the dialogue, consolidating consultation outcomes to establish a foundation for the Dialogue Conference. He also noted ongoing communications with international and regional forces, including an anticipated meeting outside Sudan with some European Union countries and the Sudan Issues Committee.

The committee expects to complete its preparation work shortly and aims to hold the Dialogue Conference before the year‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬€¦¾¢s end. Nabil Adeeb, the committee's Political Track Coordinator, stated that the committee's mandate would conclude once the dialogue is convened. Two preparatory papers have been developed to facilitate the dialogue: one on national principles and non-negotiable issues, and another on decision-making processes.

Adeeb reiterated that any proposal to partition Sudan is unacceptable and advocated for a decentralized government system to respect Sudan's diversity, alongside a democratic governance model. He stressed decisions should be made by majority vote and highlighted that dialogue participants would set the agenda. The committee continues to engage with all political entities, including the Sumoud movement, and international and regional organizations.
