Khartoum:The Sudanese government has announced an extension of the opening of the Adre border crossing with Chad for humanitarian aid for an additional three months, from October 1 through December 31, 2026.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the decision aims to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian assistance to civilians affected across Sudan. It also provides necessary facilities for humanitarian organizations to operate in coordination with the United Nations and various international, regional, and national partners, in line with national laws, regulations, and international humanitarian law.
The government has expressed its appreciation for the cooperation with the United Nations and humanitarian partners in monitoring and oversight at the crossing. It also called for the completion of necessary administrative and technical arrangements to enhance organization, transparency, and oversight of operations, ensuring the smooth flow of aid and its delivery to those in need.
