Khartoum International Channel Development to Be Fast-Tracked

Khartoum:Minister of Culture, Information, Antiquities and Tourism Khalid Al-Eisir chaired a meeting of the Board of Directors of Khartoum International Channel Company at the Ministry's headquarters in the Ministries Complex in Khartoum. The meeting was attended by Undersecretaries Dr. Graham Abdel-Gadir and Sumaya Al-Hadi.

According to Sudan News Agency, the meeting focused on a detailed report regarding the efforts to rehabilitate the company's headquarters in Omdurman. These efforts have led to the resumption of the channel's broadcasts and the reactivation of subscription services in Khartoum State.

Board Chairman and Director General of the Sudan Radio and Television Corporation, Ibrahim Al-Buzai, noted that Khartoum International Channel General Manager Badr-Eddin Mahmoud Mohamed provided a briefing on the progress of the rehabilitation work at the Omdurman headquarters and outlined future plans and programs.

Minister Al-Eisir praised the progress in rehabilitating the channel's headquarters and the resumption of broadcasting services. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the momentum for improvement and strengthening the channel's role and media mission. Al-Eisir directed that development and modernization plans should be expedited, with an emphasis on expanding the subscriber base and reinforcing financial, administrative, and legal frameworks.

He also highlighted the necessity for ongoing reviews and assessments of the channel's performance, aiming to enhance operations, efficiency, and institutional effectiveness. The minister underscored the importance of advancing the channel's operational and technical infrastructure, improving content and services, and expanding its reach to better meet current demands and enhance its role within Sudan's media landscape.
