Sudan Engages in Global Labour Discussions at 114th International Labour Conference in Geneva

Geneva: Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare, Mua'tasim Ahmed Salih, arrived in Geneva on Monday, leading Sudan's delegation at the 114th session of the International Labour Conference. This event, organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO), sees participation from member states, government representatives, employers, and workers.

According to Sudan News Agency, upon his arrival at Geneva Airport, the minister was welcomed by Sudan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Hassan Hamid Hassan, along with members of the permanent mission. This gathering underscores Sudan's commitment to bolstering cooperation with the ILO and maintaining an active role in international discussions on labour and social development issues.

During the conference, the minister is expected to present Sudan's statement, highlighting advancements in the labour sector and national initiatives aimed at enhancing social protection, supporting economic recovery, and promoting sustainable development. Additionally, he plans to engage in bilateral meetings with other ministers and delegation leaders and meet with the ILO Director-General to explore ways to enhance joint cooperation and support ILO programs in Sudan.
