Port Sudan:A new environmental cleanup campaign was launched in Port Sudan today, organized by the local authorities to enhance the environment by cleaning public areas and main streets. The initiative is under the patronage of the Governor of the Red Sea, Lieutenant General Mustafa Mohamed Nour, and supervised by the locality's Executive Director, Mohamed Saleh Fadlallah.
According to Sudan News Agency, the campaign activities included cleaning the public parking lot, Al-Amjad parking lot, and main streets. It also involved the removal of large quantities of waste, elimination of visual distortions, and spraying of mosquito and fly breeding areas. Key participants in this effort included the Sudanese Development Call Organization, the Cleaning Authority, the Local Health System Administration, and the Cleaning Authority Support Committee.
During the campaign, the governor expressed gratitude to all participating parties and urged citizens, civil society organizations, youth and sports associations, and market traders to engage actively in the cleaning initiatives for a cleaner and healthier environment.
The Executive Director of the locality, Mohamed Saleh Fadlallah, also conveyed his appreciation to the volunteers from the Dar Al Salam neighborhood, the bus station, and the Red Crescent, emphasizing that these cleaning efforts will continue on a weekly basis.
