Khartoum: A member of the Preparatory Committee for Sudanese-Sudanese Dialogue, Professor Osheik Abu Aisha, emphasized that a comprehensive dialogue among Sudanese is the most effective way to end the war and address the root causes of the political crisis. He highlighted the failure of initiatives launched outside the country, attributing this to divergent foreign interventions.
According to Sudan News Agency, Abu Aisha stated in a press release that stopping the war without achieving comprehensive political consensus would merely 'anesthetize the crisis.' He underscored the necessity for an inclusive national dialogue that establishes the groundwork for freedom, peace, justice, and democratic civilian governance.
He further clarified that the Preparatory Committee does not conduct the dialogue nor impose its agenda. Instead, the committee's role is to foster an environment conducive to dialogue, allowing participants to determine the agenda and outcomes.
Abu Aisha described the committee's meeting with the Quintet mechanism as 'very successful.' He noted that both international and regional parties have shown their willingness to support confidence-building efforts, aiming to create conditions favorable for the success of the Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue.
