Khartoum: Minister of Minerals Nour Al-Dayim Taha arrived in the People's Republic of China on Wednesday, leading a high-level delegation of senior officials from the minerals sector to participate in the Tianjin International Mining Conference.
According to Sudan News Agency, the conference is scheduled from September 10 to 12, 2026, and Minister Taha's participation comes at the invitation of China's Minister of Natural Resources. The event will convene numerous ministers of minerals, officials, experts, and stakeholders from the global mining industry, alongside representatives from various companies and institutions operating within the mineral resources sector.
The Minister of Minerals emphasized that Sudan's involvement in the conference is focused on strengthening partnerships and cooperation with China. It also aims at exchanging expertise and experience in mining and exploration to optimize the utilization of mineral resources. He noted that such collaboration is crucial for developing the sector, opening new investment opportunities, and achieving sustainable growth.
Minister Taha highlighted the significance of Sudan's presence in specialized international forums to showcase the country's mineral potential and resources. This participation is intended to present available investment opportunities to companies and investors, thereby supporting government efforts to expand the mining sector and boost its contribution to the national economy.
