Jabir Leads Currency Replacement Committee’s 32nd Meeting

Khartoum:The meeting was chaired by Lieutenant General Engineer Ibrahim Jabir, a member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), and attended by several ministers, officials, and committee members.

According to Sudan News Agency, Minister of Culture, Information, Antiquities and Tourism Khalid Al-Eisir stated that the committee focuses on macroeconomic issues alongside the currency replacement process. The replacement is following a phased plan that began in eastern Sudan, moved to central regions, and is set to reach Khartoum before covering all of Sudan.

The meeting addressed regulations and mechanisms for the importation of private vehicles by expatriates, companies, and scholarship recipients. It also emphasized the need to activate the supervisory role of the Secretariat of Sudanese Working Abroad (SSWA), and discussed matters related to gold exports, enhancing export services, combating smuggling, and increasing export revenues.

Discussions extended to free zone and company laws, strategies to increase the added value of Sudanese products, and the advancement of manufacturing and national industries. Additionally, there was consideration of updating electronic payment platforms, with a focus on enhancing the Baldna platform's role in the digital economy.
