Khartoum: The Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. (Police) Babiker Samra Mustafa, is visiting China, where he arrived in the Chinese capital, Beijing, on Sunday, heading Sudan's delegation to the Global Forum on Public Security Cooperation, scheduled to be held in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, from Sept. 8 to 10, 2026.
According to Sudan News Agency, the minister was accorded an official reception upon his arrival at Beijing Airport, attended by a number of officials from China's Ministry of Public Security and representatives of the Beijing Municipal Government. Leading his reception were the Sudanese Ambassador to the People's Republic of China, Omar Issa Ahmed, and members of the Sudanese diplomatic mission.
The minister is accompanied on the visit by the Head of the Police Administrative Affairs Authority, Lt. Gen. (Police) Tarig Soorig, and a representative of the Ministry of Interior's Protocol Directorate.
The Interior Minister is scheduled to participate in the Global Forum on Public Security Cooperation, as well as attend and address the Third Ministerial Meeting on Security and the Rule of Law between China and East African Countries, scheduled for September 10, with the participation of a number of African ministers and security officials.
The visit's programme also includes bilateral meetings with a number of senior officials at China's Ministry of Public Security to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination.
The minister is also expected to meet with a number of African ministers and officials from delegations participating in the meeting, which brings together representatives from 14 African countries, providing an opportunity for consultation and coordination on security issues of mutual interest.
Sudan's participation in these events reflects the two countries' interest in developing cooperation in the security field and benefiting from Chinese and African expertise and experience, in a way that contributes to efforts to promote security and stability and strengthen international cooperation in public security.
