Khartoum: Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare Motasem Ahmed Saleh announced on Thursday the conclusion of Sudan's participation in the meetings of the General Assembly of the Arab Administrative Development Organization in Cairo.
According to Sudan News Agency, the meetings were preceded by sessions of the Executive Council, senior officials, and delegates. The minister described the session as important, noting that it approved the organization's new strategic plan, extended the term of Dr. Nasser Al-Qahtani as Director-General, and renewed the Executive Council for another term while Sudan retained its membership.
He explained that Sudan's participation represented an important opportunity to strengthen the country's presence within the framework of joint Arab action. The minister noted that cooperation with the organization has moved into a phase of practical institutional partnership aimed at supporting civil service reform, administrative development, capacity-building and leadership development, as well as developing government training systems, digital transformation, studies and consultancy services.
The cooperation also includes efforts to mobilize Arab support and financing for these programs. The minister added that the two sides agreed to organize the Arab Forum for Enhancing Human Resources Capacities in Khartoum next October, with the participation of institutions involved in joint Arab action.
The forum is expected to serve as a platform to support the civil service, health, transport, trade, industry, and education sectors, which are considered among the key drivers of recovery and reconstruction. He also referred to an agreement for Sudan to host the Sixth Arab Conference on Management and Development in 2027, a move expected to strengthen Sudan's position and role in administrative and development issues at the Arab level.
The minister affirmed that Sudan is leaving the session with a package of important gains and partnerships and with greater determination to translate the agreements reached into practical programs and projects that contribute to rebuilding state institutions, developing human capacities, and strengthening Sudan's role in joint Arab action.
