GCC Criticizes Settler Activities at Al-Aqsa Mosque

Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, emphasized that the GCC nations strongly condemn the ongoing incursions into Al Aqsa Mosque by extremist settlers, who are operating under the protection of Israeli police personnel.

According to Qatar News Agency, Albudaiwi also criticized the display of the Israeli flag within the mosque's courtyards, stating that these actions represent a serious breach of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy.

Albudaiwi highlighted that the GCC nations completely oppose any measures by the Israeli occupation forces aimed at altering the historical and legal status of Jerusalem and its Islamic holy sites. He cautioned that the continuous violations could lead to heightened tension and instability in the region, undermining the prospects for peace.

Furthermore, Albudaiwi reiterated that the GCC countries firmly support the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, particularly the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
