Khartoum: A delegation from the Federal Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning visited Nile Valley University on Monday to review development projects underway at the university, including the construction of new lecture halls and laboratories for the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
According to Sudan News Agency, the delegation, headed by Rehab Abdel-Rahman Al-Sayer, met with Nile Valley University Vice Chancellor Professor Hassan Al-Saeem at the university's headquarters in Atbara, in the presence of Deputy Vice Chancellor Dr. Hassan Siddiq and Director of the Engineering Department Engineer Maha Salah Burhan. The visit was part of efforts to monitor institutional performance and support higher education.
The dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for federal attention to the university's infrastructure needs. He said the new laboratories and lecture halls would play a key role in strengthening the educational process, particularly amid the continued increase in student numbers. He emphasized the faculty's national role during the 'War of Dignity,' stating that it had opened its lecture halls and laboratories to large numbers of medical students from universities affected by the war, allowing them to continue their academic and humanitarian mission.
Rehab Al-Sayer, representing the Finance Ministry delegation, praised the progress made, including completion of the ground floor comprising new lecture halls and additional laboratories, as well as the library. She affirmed the ministry's continued support for higher education and efforts to rehabilitate its infrastructure.
