Khartoum: Defense Minister Lt. Gen. Hassan Daoud Kabroun welcomed a delegation accompanying the International Expert on Human Rights in Sudan to his office on Tuesday. The delegation included the official responsible for the Sudan human rights file, a representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs handling the human rights portfolio, and the Country Representative. This meeting was part of ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation and engage in joint consultations between the two parties.
According to Sudan News Agency, the discussions centered on several key issues of mutual concern, including cooperation in areas such as civilian and child protection, tackling enforced disappearances and unlawful detention, and efforts to curb hate speech.
The Ministry of Defense expressed that the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Government of Sudan are fully prepared and equipped with the necessary mechanisms to provide comprehensive support for initiatives and programs addressing these areas.
The delegation, in turn, highlighted the importance of effectively communicating the efforts and measures undertaken by the Sudanese Government and the Armed Forces to the international community, emphasizing their commitment to promoting and protecting human rights.
