Omdurman: The Governor of the Darfur Region, Minni Arko Minnawi, commended the strong cooperation and coordination between Sudanese and Chadian authorities regarding the Sudanese certificate examinations for Sudanese students residing in the Republic of Chad.
According to Sudan News Agency, last year's examinations were conducted smoothly and in an organized manner, thanks to the significant facilitation provided by the Chadian authorities. During a meeting in Omdurman on Saturday with the Minister of Education and National Pedagogy, Al-Tohami Al-Zain Hajar, in the presence of Undersecretary Dr. Ahmed Khalifa Omar, the Governor noted that Chad, along with UNICEF and the UNHCR, delivered broad support that enabled large numbers of Sudanese students to sit for exams under favorable conditions despite the challenges faced by refugee students.
He stressed that relevant authorities are seeking to maintain the same level of cooperation this year, while pursuing additional facilitation-particularly for students who were unable to sit exams last year due to displacement and the loss of educational opportunities. The Governor called on Chadian authorities to allow all Sudanese students to sit for examinations this year, praising the efforts of the Ministry of Education and National Pedagogy despite limited resources. He also commended the Minister's close follow-up on the examination file and efforts to create a conducive environment for students.
He expressed his wishes for success to students who recently sat for exams, affirming that their success represents a success for Sudan and its educational future. For his part, Minister Dr. Al-Tohami Al-Zain Hajar confirmed that all arrangements and preparations for the 2026 Sudanese secondary certificate examinations for refugee students in eastern Chad have been completed.
He stated that the meeting primarily addressed arrangements for Sudanese refugee students-both male and female-in eastern Chad to sit for the exams, noting that joint efforts between the Ministry, the regional government led by the Governor, UNICEF, UNHCR, and the Sudanese Certificate Emergency Chamber have ensured completion of all technical and administrative preparations. He affirmed that all parties are working in a spirit of coordination to ensure the exams are held on schedule, as was successfully achieved last year, expressing hope that these collective efforts will culminate in success.
