Khartoum: President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, has approved the results of the 2025-2026 Sudanese Secondary School Certificate examinations, ahead of their official announcement on Thursday.
According to Sudan News Agency, during a meeting with Minister of National Education Dr. Al-Tohami Al-Zain Hajar, the TSC President praised the efforts of teachers in sustaining the educational process and administering the examinations. He emphasized the resilience of teachers under challenging circumstances and reiterated the state's commitment to supporting the education sector.
Minister Dr. Al-Tohami Al-Zain Hajar shared that 559,000 students took the 2025-2026 examinations, an increase from 510,000 students prior to the war. He highlighted this as a positive sign of stability and recovery, as well as the normalization of the educational process nationwide. The exams were conducted in 3,333 centers both inside and outside Sudan, including 84 centers in 14 countries.
The minister expressed gratitude to the TSC President and Prime Minister for their support of education and acknowledged the contributions of teachers in accomplishing this national mission. He also recognized the security agencies' efforts in securing the examinations and the assistance from ministries, government institutions, and regional leaders, which facilitated the successful organization of the exams.
