Khartoum: The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, has awarded the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Sudan, Hani Salah, the Order of the Two Niles, First Class, on the occasion of the conclusion of his term of service in Sudan.
According to Sudan News Agency, the award was presented during Al-Burhan's meeting with the Egyptian ambassador, in the presence of Foreign Minister Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salem. In a press statement, Ambassador Hani Salah expressed his pleasure at being received in the same location where he had presented his credentials four years prior.
He remarked on the significance of the Republican Palace's restoration as a symbol of national sovereignty. The ambassador highlighted that while Sudan faces challenges, it has also achieved significant successes, with the restoration of the Republican Palace being a notable accomplishment.
Ambassador Salah emphasized that the Order of the Two Niles was an honor not only for him but for the Arab Republic of Egypt as well, referencing the deep and historic ties between the two nations. During the meeting, he delivered a message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, focusing on enhancing joint cooperation between the countries.
The ambassador noted that President El-Sisi reiterated Egypt's support for Sudan during this critical period. In his new role as Assistant Foreign Minister for Sudan and South Sudan Affairs, Ambassador Salah pledged to build on past achievements, expressing optimism that the next phase will be one of peace, reconstruction, and development.
