Omdurman:Dr. Mohamed Jalal Hashim, Coordinator of the Community Track of the Preparatory Committee for the Sudanese-Sudanese Dialogue, has unveiled plans to involve various grassroots groups in the national dialogue. These plans include participation from internally displaced persons (IDPs), refugees, survivors of violations, native administration leaders, Sufi orders, and sectoral and community bodies.
According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Hashim emphasized the importance of these groups independently selecting their representatives, as existing leadership bodies do not fully represent all grassroots components. This initiative aims to ensure that a wider range of voices are heard in the dialogue process.
Dr. Hashim highlighted that the committee's engagement will extend to internally displaced individuals within Sudan and refugees in neighboring countries. The goal is to prepare these groups for participation in the broader dialogue and ensure their inclusion in the selection of representatives.
The proposal seeks to broaden the participation base, moving beyond established political and community leaders to include communities directly impacted by the war. This approach is intended to provide a platform for these communities to express their views.
Dr. Hashim underscored that the committee's role is to create a conducive environment for dialogue, foster trust, and promote understanding among participants without imposing any agenda or representatives.
