Cairo: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Professor Ahmed Modawi Musa engaged in discussions with Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils, Professor Abdulmajid Benamara, to explore avenues for expanding Sudan's participation in the Union's activities, programs, and initiatives. This collaboration aims to bolster scientific and research cooperation among Arab nations.
According to Sudan News Agency, the meeting took place at the Union's regional office in Cairo and focused on various programs and initiatives designed to enhance Arab cooperation and integration in scientific research and innovation. One of the key initiatives discussed was the 'Solidarity for the Future' program, which the Union has launched to support scientific research institutions in conflict-affected Arab countries and strengthen the role of scientific research in recovery, reconstruction, and development.
Both parties emphasized the importance of broadening and advancing Sudan's involvement in the Union's programs and initiatives. They highlighted the potential benefits of scientific cooperation, expertise exchange, and capacity building in research and innovation, which would enhance Sudan's presence and influence within the Arab scientific community.
The meeting also addressed the prospects for continued cooperation between Sudan and the Union amid the challenging circumstances facing the country.
