Khartoum:A unit of the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia announced its defection and joining of the armed forces today under the leadership of Al-Tayeb Mohamed Ahmed, also known as 'Al-Tayeb Al-Waheedo.' The unit was received by several leaders from the armed forces and the General Intelligence Service.
According to Sudan News Agency, Al-Tayeb Al-Waheedo stated in a press release that he decided to defect from the militia and join the armed forces due to the tragedies he witnessed within the militia ranks.
He urged those remaining in the rebel militia to join the armed forces, return to their families, and reconsider their stance, emphasizing that there is no cause worth the continuation of the conflict.
