Khartoum: Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris visited the War Museum on Sunday, where he was received by Lieutenant General Dr. Omar Al-Nour Ahmed, Director of the Directorate of Museums and Military History at the Ministry of Defence, alongside a number of senior museum officials and representatives of Zadna International Investment Company.
According to Sudan News Agency, during his tour, the Prime Minister explored the museum's sections, including displays of military vehicles and equipment, a cultural wing dedicated to heritage and the arts, and a section for counselling and psychological treatment. The visit was part of the celebrations marking the 72nd anniversary of the Sudanese Armed Forces.
The Prime Minister expressed his respect for the Sudanese Armed Forces, highlighting the War Museum as a repository of the Armed Forces' history and a legacy for future generations. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces and supporting forces during the Battle of Dignity, emphasizing their role in defending and safeguarding the nation's sovereignty.
The Prime Minister was also updated on the collaboration between Zadna International Investment Company and the War Museum. He praised Zadna's strategic projects and its contribution to the national economy, viewing it as a crucial element in Sudan's pursuit of comprehensive and sustainable development.
Dr. Idris stressed the importance of integrating major national agricultural projects, such as the Gezira Scheme, Al-Hawad Project, and Zadna's initiatives, to drive economic development and ensure food security. He reiterated Sudan's potential, with its abundant resources and rich civilization, to remain a leader among nations.
