Khartoum: National Umma Party (NUP) leader Dr. Ibrahim Al-Amin emphasized at the Sudanese-Sudanese Dialogue Forum, convened at the National Umma Party headquarters, that the dialogue is a crucial opportunity to rebuild the Sudanese state from the ground up. The focus is on broad participation, empowering capable individuals, and granting local communities more authority to manage their own affairs.
According to Sudan News Agency, Al-Amin insisted that the dialogue should remain solely Sudanese, highlighting the capability of the Sudanese people to manage their country's affairs independently, without foreign intervention. He advocated for a shift from centralized governance to building institutions starting at the village, neighborhood, and local community levels, extending to state institutions. This approach involves empowering qualified individuals and granting these institutions broad powers to deliver services and facilitate rapid change.
Dr. Al-Amin highlighted Sudan's wealth of qualified individuals and called for their empowerment in managing institutions. He suggested that ministers should focus on policy-setting and authority delegation, with independent administrative structures handling implementation and operations. He emphasized the need for a societal shift from a culture of command to one of listening, enabling Sudanese people to express their concerns and participate in managing their affairs as a key step towards building a stable state.
The NUP leader stressed the importance of learning from past experiences and formulating a national project that includes all components of Sudanese society without exclusion. He underscored that Sudan's unity is paramount, advocating for social and tribal diversity as a foundation for genuine national integration. He called for inclusive governance, planning, and administration involving all Sudanese.
Dr. Al-Amin concluded that the dialogue should evolve beyond mere initiatives and agreements, becoming a continuous practical approach. Each stage should improve upon the last, ultimately leading to the construction of a 'modern Sudan' grounded in participation, citizenship, and national unity.
