Minawi Calls for Sudanese-Led National Dialogue Free from Militia and Foreign Influence

Darfur region: Darfur Region Governor and leader of the Sudan Liberation Army/Movement (SLA/M) Minni Arko Minawi emphasized that any upcoming national dialogue in Sudan must be entirely led by Sudanese citizens. He insisted that it should address all national issues while maintaining Sudan's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Minawi made it clear that the process should be devoid of any influence or pressure from militias or foreign entities.

According to Sudan News Agency, Minawi shared on his official page that he met with representatives of the 'Quintet' on Tuesday. During the meeting, he stressed the importance of withdrawing all militias and foreign forces from Sudan. The discussion also focused on the need for international and regional assurances to guarantee that the dialogue's outcomes are implemented within clearly defined timelines. Minawi expressed optimism that these measures would promote a political process fostering peace and stability, ensuring the Sudanese people's right to determine their own future.
