Suakin:The King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid has launched the eleventh shipment of the 'Sudan Aid' project in Suakin, Red Sea State. The event was attended by prominent figures including Lieutenant General Mustafa Mohamed Nour, the Governor of the Red Sea, Dr. Zaid bin Mukhlid Al-Harbi, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Sudan, and other local officials and representatives.
According to Sudan News Agency, the aid shipment includes essential food and shelter materials aimed at supporting displaced persons, returnees, and needy families across several states including Khartoum, North Kordofan, White Nile, Blue Nile, Kassala, and Red Sea.
During the inauguration, the Red Sea Governor expressed gratitude towards Saudi Arabia, acknowledging its ongoing support and highlighting the historical assistance that predated 2023. He assured that the materials would be distributed to deserving recipients through the Humanitarian Aid Commission.
The Saudi ambassador emphasized that the initiative aligns with directives from King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, aiming to assist the Sudanese population. Launched in 2025, the project targets over 1.5 million beneficiaries across 12 states, with 324 out of the planned 700 trucks already delivered.
Professor Mutaz Ibrahim of the Humanitarian Aid Commission praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its continued support during Sudan's challenging times. He underscored the commission's commitment to facilitating the smooth distribution of aid through coordinated efforts with state commissions.
