El-Fashir: The warplanes continued their air sorties Saturday in the vicinity of El-Fashir city, where they were able to destroy the strongholds of the rebellious Al-Dagalo militia and cut off the road to a force coming from the south and west of the city.
According to Sudan News Agency, the 6th Infantry Division in El-Fashir reported, in its press briefing, that the air sorties carried out Friday resulted in the killing of 12 militia members and the wounding of 8 others, in addition to the destruction of five combat vehicles, two pick-up vehicles, and an Avanti car.
The city’s defenses were also able to achieve a qualitative achievement by shooting down four suicide drones that were targeting army bases and defenses before they reached their targets. In addition, the armed forces and joint forces, supported by artillery, were able to destroy a Hauser cannon in Al-Nakheel neighborhood, northeast of El-Fashir.
The 6 Division pointed out that the elements of Al-Dagalo militia continued to flee westward, as a result of the intensive air and artillery strikes.
Meanwhile, a group of citizens of Al-Gubba Al-Ribat area, belonging to the Revolutionary Awakening Council led by Mohamed Hamid Al-Wali, announced the renewal of their support for the armed forces led by General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, stressing their rejection of any parallel government or any project that leads to the separation of Darfur, asserting their support for the unity of Sudan, territories and people.
