Khartoum:The Governor of Khartoum, Mr. Ahmed Osman Hamza, visited the White Nile Iron Bridge to inspect ongoing maintenance work on its overhead tensioners. This bridge is a crucial link between Khartoum and Omdurman.
According to Sudan News Agency, the maintenance activities are planned for weekends, specifically on Fridays and Saturdays, from September 25 to October 17, 2026. This schedule is intended to minimize disruption to traffic by diverting vehicles to northern and southern lanes on these days.
The maintenance aims to repair damage caused to the bridge during the war, ensuring the structure's safety and functionality.
