Gedaref State Finalizes Arrangements for Sacrificial Animal Distribution Program

Khartoum: The Supreme Committee for the Distribution of Sacrificial Gifts in Gedaref is reviewing the final arrangements for implementing the program. The Supreme Committee for the Distribution of Sacrificial Animal Gifts in Gadarif State reviewed the final arrangements for implementing the sacrificial animal distribution program, during its meeting today, chaired by Dr. Ahmed Al-Amin Adam, Director General of the Ministry of Health and Social Development and the Minister in Charge.

According to Sudan News Agency, this program is generously supported by the Al-Ithar Charitable Organization, the Qatar Red Crescent, Qatar Charity, and the Solidarity Organization. The meeting discussed ongoing preparations and joint coordination with the slaughterhouse, local authorities, and relevant entities to ensure the smooth running of the operation and the achievement of its desired objectives.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Amin announced that the Zakat House would undertake the transportation of refrigerated meat to all localities in the state at a cost exceeding EGP 55 million. He emphasized the importance of close coordination among all partner agencies to ensure the program is delivered optimally, and emphasized the need to activate the supervisory role to ensure close monitoring of all phases of implementation.

For his part, the committee’s rapporteur, Professor Tariq Babiker Musa, presented a detailed report on the coordination that had taken place with the Gedaref Municipality and other localities in the state, noting the assurance of full readiness to begin the distribution and community awareness operations accompanying the program.

The meeting also decided to begin transporting live calves to Al-Faw and Al-Rahad localities starting today, with prior coordination to organize the field supervision process. The committee will conduct a field tour of the targeted camps and sites to assess final preparations, review capabilities, and ensure the readiness of the implementing agencies on the ground.
