Khartoum: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has condemned the issuance of statements that categorically assign responsibility to the Sudanese Armed Forces before any professional and independent investigation into the circumstances of the incident has been conducted.
According to Sudan News Agency, the ministry has been closely monitoring the statements and allegations circulating regarding an alleged Sudanese attack on the territory of the Republic of Chad. The statement emphasized Sudan's respect for Chad's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and border security, underlining the commitment to maintain fraternal relations, good-neighborliness, and shared interests between the two nations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted that the Sudanese Armed Forces are fulfilling their constitutional duty to safeguard Sudan's sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity while respecting the sovereignty of neighboring states and refraining from targeting their territories. The Government of Sudan also expressed astonishment at the lack of response to the ongoing drone attacks originating from Ethiopia against Sudanese territory, the latest of which occurred on Thursday morning, despite Sudan having conclusive evidence of these repeated assaults.
The ministry urged all international parties to prioritize accuracy and objectivity and to avoid adopting incomplete narratives, aiming to reduce tensions and support security and stability in the region. The statement concluded by reaffirming Sudan's commitment to maintaining fraternal and stable relations with Chad and Ethiopia, addressing any border or security issues through dialogue and direct coordination to preserve sovereignty and serve the interests of the regional peoples.
