Khartoum: Minister of Finance Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim on Thursday chaired the ministry's regular meeting to evaluate overall performance, in the presence of State Minister Mohamed Nour Abdel Dayem, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry Maki Abdel Rahim, the Deputy Director-General of the Customs Forces, the Secretary-General of the Taxation Chamber, the Director-General of the National Accounts Chamber, the Director-General of the Internal Audit Chamber, as well as directors and representatives of ministry directorates.
According to Sudan News Agency, the minister opened the meeting by congratulating staff on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, commending their efforts during the past period and directing them to continue accelerating the pace of work while improving quality in line with reconstruction requirements. He reaffirmed his support for directorates in reviewing performance and reducing bureaucratic procedures while maintaining work accuracy.
The minister also stressed his keenness to address the conditions of employees not yet absorbed into the ministry's structure, directing the preparation of a clear vision for resolving the matter. He underscored the importance of developing overall ministry performance, strengthening staff capacities, and completing procedures for the recruitment of graduates previously announced in support of institutional work.
He further highlighted the importance of regular follow-up on the implementation of the digital transformation program and addressing any challenges facing it, while reviewing progress in revenue-generating units.
The minister praised the revenue position and directed continued tightening of border crossings, reduction of tax leakages, and control of expenditures in line with the requirements of the current stage.
For his part, the State Minister underscored the minister's directives and reviewed progress in the digitization of financial systems, affirming that it represents one of the ministry's top priorities and is advancing steadily, including the anticipated launch of the companies and corporations system, in addition to the completion of computerization processes across various units.
He also stressed the importance of monitoring state expenditures, reviewing and registering government assets, and improving their management.
The various units and directorates reviewed challenges affecting workflow, while the minister reaffirmed his commitment to overcoming them and providing all necessary requirements, including improving the work environment and ensuring continuous coordination with relevant entities to enhance overall ministry performance.
