Khartoum: Khartoum State Wali Ahmed Othman Hamza and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum Engineer Ali Abdel-Rahman Mohamed held discussions focused on ensuring regular fuel supplies to meet the increasing demand as residents return and commercial activities resume.
According to Sudan News Agency, the discussions emphasized enhancing coordination between the ministry and the state throughout the fuel supply chain, from importation to distribution. The leaders underscored the importance of expediting related procedures and setting prices that reflect both supply costs and global market trends.
The conversation also covered the regulation of distribution at service stations, coordination with regular forces to maintain smooth operations, and the rehabilitation of stations damaged during the conflict, with a goal to gradually return them to service and expand the distribution network.
Both parties acknowledged the challenges posed by regional and international developments, as well as rising fuel tanker and transportation costs. They stressed the importance of implementing measures to ensure stable fuel supplies as part of broader efforts to support economic recovery, restore activity, and strengthen basic services for returning citizens in Khartoum State.
