Khartoum: Culture, arts, and media are essential tools for promoting dialogue among the different components of Sudanese society. Minister of Culture, Information, Antiquities and Tourism Khalid Al-Eisir emphasized their capacity to connect with people's hearts, transform conflicts into opportunities for understanding, and revive shared values during a workshop for drama professionals at the Global Space Center for Culture and Media in Omdurman.According to Sudan News Agency, Al-Eisir highlighted the need to restore the value of dialogue to achieve national consensus, resolve grievances, and build a unified Sudan. He reiterated the government's role in fostering a conducive environment for dialogue without interfering in its substance or outcomes. The process should be inclusive, open, and based on mutual respect, aiming to create a nation where everyone thrives.Al-Eisir addressed drama professionals, pointing out that art has the power to not only reflect reality but also reshape it. He described theater and drama as potential bridges that can foster awareness and provide safe spaces for expressing people's aspirations and challenges, steering away from hate speech and divisiveness.The minister urged the rejection of hate speech and the promotion of peace and community security through constructive national partnerships. He called for documentation of the current period, including the war, the struggles of the Sudanese people, and the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces and supporting forces.Al-Eisir reaffirmed his ministry's commitment to supporting national cultural and artistic initiatives, emphasizing collaboration with practitioners to achieve their objectives and enhance national awareness and social cohesion. He also noted the importance of state leaders participating in cultural and artistic activities, underscoring the government's dedication to utilizing culture, arts, and media in addressing national issues.
