Dr. Nowara Calls for One Army Under Unified Command

Khartoum: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Dr. Nowara Abu Mohamed Taher stressed the need to preserve a single national army under unified command, with cohesive ranks and a firmly rooted national doctrine to defend Sudan's unity.

According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Nowara addressed a ceremony held by the 2nd Infantry Division in Al-Gadharef State marking the 72nd anniversary of the Sudanese Armed Forces. She emphasized that the nation remains above all considerations and that the Armed Forces serve as the protective umbrella for Sudan's unity, dignity, and sovereignty.

She praised the Armed Forces' 72-year record of defending Sudan's sovereignty, safeguarding its institutions, and protecting its territory through various historical periods. TSC Member also commended the courage of the Armed Forces and supporting forces in defending the state, and paid tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs, wounded, and missing, describing them as enduring lessons in sacrifice and loyalty. She wished the wounded and injured a speedy recovery and expressed hope for the safe return of those missing.

It is to be recalled that Dr. Nowara arrived in Al-Gadharef State on Tuesday and was received by State Wali Lt. Gen. Mohamed Ahmed Hassan. She was accorded an official reception and the national anthem was played at the headquarters of the 2nd Infantry Division.
