Tianjin: China's Vice Minister of Natural Resources visited the Sudan pavilion at the 2026 China International Mining Conference and Exhibition in Tianjin. He was received by Minister of Minerals Nour Al-Daim Mohamed Ahmed Taha, in the presence of a number of senior mining officials and members of the Sudanese delegation participating in the conference.
According to Sudan News Agency, during the visit, the vice minister was briefed on the pavilion's contents, including presentations and informational materials highlighting Sudan's geological and mineral wealth, investment opportunities in exploration, production, and mineral processing, as well as efforts to develop the mining sector and make use of modern technologies.
Minister of Minerals Taha emphasized the importance of benefiting from China's advanced expertise and technologies in geological exploration, geophysical surveying, and mineral resource assessment, which would contribute to developing the sector and maximizing the added value of Sudan's mineral resources.
The Chinese vice minister expressed interest in Sudan's mineral potential, stressing the importance of maintaining communication between the relevant institutions of the two countries to promote the exchange of expertise and open the way for further initiatives in the mining sector.
The Sudan pavilion attracted considerable interest from Chinese companies, investors, experts, and mining specialists, who were keen to learn about Sudan's mineral resources and available investment opportunities, while also exploring areas of joint cooperation in exploration, mining, services, and mining technologies.
The strong turnout highlights the growing interest in the potential of Sudan's mining sector. Participation in the conference and exhibition also provides an important platform for promoting Sudan's mineral wealth and investment opportunities to international companies.
