Port sudan: Minister of Culture, Information, and Tourism, Khalid Al-Aiser, has affirmed the Hope Government’s concern with providing a favorable environment for foreign media operating in Sudan, while taking into account professional standards related to national security issues and ensuring that they do not conflict with the state’s security concerns.
According to Sudan News Agency, during a meeting at his office in Port Sudan, in the presence of Undersecretary of Information, Sumaya Al-Hadi, with officials, correspondents, and representatives of foreign media outlets, the Minister stated that the country has been going through a critical phase, waging an existential war, which requires caution and care in addressing issues related to national security.
Media representatives reviewed a number of challenges and obstacles facing their work, especially in the Red Sea State, requesting further support and facilitation from the Ministry of Information to enhance the performance of media institutions. They also expressed their understanding of the security conditions facing the country.
It was agreed, in the meeting, to enhance mechanisms for continuous and direct communication and coordination between foreign channels and the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism, to serve the interests of all parties, in addition to a commitment to follow official channels regarding media activities.
