6th Infantry Division Vows to Liberate El Fasher from RSF

Khartoum: Commander of the 6th Infantry Division, Maj. Gen. Omar Mansour Hassan, stated that the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and supporting forces are engaged in battles to clear every part of Sudan from the RSF militia, focusing particularly on El-Fasher. He emphasized that the division would not fail the Sudanese people.

According to Sudan News Agency, Maj. Gen. Hassan made these comments at a ceremony held at the division's temporary headquarters in Merowe, Northern State. He expressed that the next victory celebrations would occur in El-Fasher, indicating the division's commitment to liberating the area.

The ceremony was held to honor the division's former commander, Maj. Gen. Mohamed Ahmed Al-Khidr, who has been transferred to the Institute of Strategic Studies and Military Colleges. Al-Khidr expressed confidence in the SAF and supporting forces' ability to overcome the rebels and regain control over Sudanese territory. He commended the sacrifices made by the Joint Forces of the armed struggle movements and popular resistance, acknowledging the resilience of the residents of El-Fasher and North Darfur.

Al-Khidr also paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the war, wishing for the swift recovery of the wounded and the safe return of prisoners and missing persons.
