Undersecretary Unveils Health Initiative to Combat Dengue and Malaria

Khartoum: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Professor Ali Ahmed Babiker, announced that the National Health Support Initiative is a practical translation of a national vision that prioritizes human health and reflects the State’s commitment to safeguarding citizens and combating epidemics.

According to Sudan News Agency, during the launch ceremony of the initiative, Professor Babiker emphasized that the extensive participation in the initiative highlights a deep awareness of the health challenges facing citizens, particularly dengue fever and malaria, which have long affected the Sudanese population. He underscored the necessity for a collective and sustainable effort based on effective partnerships across all sectors to build a resilient, future-oriented health system.

Professor Babiker elaborated that the initiative calls for comprehensive cooperation between government and community bodies. He described it as a cornerstone in Sudan’s development path, aiming to unify efforts, activate the roles of the private sector and civil society, and coordinate actions to ensure the availability of medicines and medical supplies.

The Undersecretary also highlighted that the initiative aspires to expand inclusive health coverage and establish a cohesive and equitable health system that guarantees fairness in the distribution of health services.
