TSC President Returns After Official Visit to Cairo

Khartoum: President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, returned to the country following a one-day official visit to Cairo, invited by Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi.

According to Sudan News Agency, during the visit, General Al-Burhan engaged in bilateral talks with President Al-Sisi, discussing the close relations between the two countries and addressing regional and international issues of mutual concern. In a press statement, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohy-Eddin Salim, noted that TSC President extended congratulations to President Al-Sisi on the success of the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit and its outcomes for the Palestinian people, contributing to regional peace and stability.

Ambassador Salim stated that General Al-Burhan expressed Sudan’s appreciation for Egypt’s continued support across various fields. Meanwhile, President Al-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to suppo
rting Sudan’s state institutions and rejecting external interference in Sudan’s internal affairs. He also encouraged the Sudanese people to unite in defense of their nation and resources.

The Foreign Minister highlighted President Al-Sisi’s interest in restoring normalcy in Sudan and achieving lasting peace. Ambassador Salim mentioned that both presidents acknowledged U.S. President Donald Trump’s initiative, which ended the fighting in Gaza, as a potential model for peace in Sudan.

The discussions also addressed the humanitarian situation in Al-Fashir and other cities affected by the rebel militia. The talks saw participation from senior officials from both countries, including Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal, and Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, among others.
